Hello, I’m in customer service with Shooting Star Gems.
I thought I’d tell the story of how my husband proposed to me. Since I picked out the ring (you can’t really pick a ring for someone who works in jewelry.:)), the surprise part was when and how he was giving me the ring.
He hung on to the ring for about 3 torturous months, then one Saturday morning he told me to pack a bag. He had made arrangements for the house, pets, etc., told me to pack a really nice outfit, a bathing suit (and lingerie) and we got in the car. We passed by the airport (I was sure we were flying somewhere!), and pulled up in front of the Ritz Carton. He had booked us a weekend in the club suites at the Ritz! We had open access to all of the club amenities, pool, hot tub, gym, lounge, etc.
That evening we dressed for dinner in the restaurant at the Ritz and right before we were leaving the room, he sat me in a chair, got down on one knee and told me all the reasons he loved me and why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Then he pulled out the ring box, opened it and asked me to marry him. I was crying so hard, I could barely get out the words “Yes, oh Yes, Yes!”.
When we got to the restaurant downstairs, the staff knew we had just gotten engaged, had champagne, a special table and menu planned for us and most every staff member came by to offer congratulations.
It was a very special and memorable proposal and weekend. I just got all teary-eyed just telling the story again!
